In March 2010, Nile University was affiliated and accredited to Uganda Martyrs University in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act 6th April 2001 (Article 111).
The choice to affiliate and accredit Nile University to Uganda Martyrs University was purposefully done based on the conviction that it will mentor Nile University and take it higher to achieve its planned full autonomy as an Independent University.
At its 46th meeting of 20th February 2018, National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) granted Nile University Provisional License to operate it as a Private University. “IN THE EXERCISE OF THE POWERS CONFERRED UPON THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR HIGHER EDUCATION (NCHE) BY THE UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS ACT, NO. 7 OF 2001, AS AMENDED, THIS NOTCE IS ISSUED THIS 20TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2018.”
National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) also accredited 22 academic programmes to the newly licensed Nile University on the same date at its 46th meeting of 20th February 2018.
As a young University, Nile University would like to have a quality growth and development in the right direct. One of the way to achieve this quality growth and development is through partnerships, collaborations, cooperation with experienced international Universities, Organizations, Institutions, Associations, etc.
It is our strong and determined hope that, Nile University shall maintain a position of Excellency and provide appropriate, relevant and affordable educational opportunities for the long disadvantaged people of Uganda and humanity in general. It will not be without challenges. However, we all know that great achievements like discoveries and inventions came to be due to the spirit of human beings supporting each other.
Therefore, we appeal to the various stakeholders and the Government of Uganda at large foreign Countries, Foreign Donors; Foreign Agencies; Foreign Organisations, Foundations, International Universities, Outstanding Persons or all people of Good Will, etc, for your support to Nile University either in form of personnel, funds, or Partnership, Books, Ideas or assistance in any kind.
Our appeal, therefore, is for your support for Nile University. We appreciate any form of assistance from you either as a person/individual, as an organization / Foundation, or in your capacity as a University / Institution, or as a country etc.
Thank you.
