The Bachelor of Arts Education – Secondary is a fulltime programme offered at Nile University and has been established to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Its main tasks and responsibility will consist in providing a degree programme in Education Secondary as determined by the University. The degree programme consists of 3 years of study on a full-time basis and runs on a Semester format. However, a candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Education shall pursue approved Courses of study for a period not less than 3 years and not more than 5 years. The main thrust of the Faculty’s programmes aims to blend theory and practice. Given this perspective, the Faculty strives to train students into graduates who understand and have internalized theory. The student will also acquire useful managerial skills and attitudes which can be applied and adapted in relevant fashion to varied work scenarios.
While the Bachelor of Education Primary Arts programme is both a fulltime and In-service / Distance Learning programme offered at Nile University and has been established to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Its main tasks and responsibility will consist in providing a degree programme in Education Primary as determined by the University. The degree programme consists of 3 years of study on In-Service / Distance learning basis and 2 years of study on a full-time basis. It runs on a Semester format. A candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Education Primary – Arts shall pursue approved Courses of study for a period not less than 3 years and not more than 5 years or 2 years and not more than 4 years on the distance and full time delivery modes respectively. The main thrust of the Faculty of Education’s programmes aims to blend theory and practice. Given this perspective, the Faculty of Education strives to train students into graduates who understand and have internalized theory and how this can be applied in different real life situtuions. The student will also acquire useful managerial skills and attitudes which can be applied and adapted in relevant fashion to varied work scenarios.
The objectives in the Faculty of Education will be achieved through a process which will consist of lectures, tutorials, private study, assignments, tests, seminars / workshops, field assignments and special projects. Students will, from time to time, participate in management skills development sessions intended to expose them to real – life management issues. These sessions are intended to train and enhance the student’s managerial insights, broaden their vision, and bring about appropriate behavioural and more appreciative, constructively responsive and increasingly positive in their respective environments.
The Course Units are designed to address current Curriculum, Economic and Technological trends in the primary school Curriculum and Society as well.
