Nile University Has a main library with no branch libraries as yet. this main Library building is located on the main campus at Ombaci and was connected to the internet and catalogued in 2006 and 2007 respectively. In 2006, the library was extended to create and provide more study space and conducive environment for studies. The library has a capacity to accommodate about 300 students.

The library is organized into sections such as; Reference section

This has functions and services such as:

  • Registration of users;
  • Issuing and receiving books;
  • Issuing borrower’s cards;
  • User Education;
  • Information /help desk;
  • Technical services Section;
    This section provides all technical services such as cataloguing and classification. The section is meant for library staff who organizes information materials for users. It is out of bounds for library users.

ICT Section provides all the requirements like internet, word processing etc.

The library has over 10000 collections of books, periodicals, CD-ROMS. The periodicals include; Serials, Journals (Print & Electronic), Magazines, Newspapers, Reports. Of these, the periodicals cannot be taken out of the library. The organization of the library materials are according to Dewey Decimal Classification systems. It is as follows:- Electronic resources

Location

Nile University is located in Arua District in the North West of Uganda 5km from Arua on the Arua – Moyo road on a 32.1 acre piece of land.

The University is open to both male and female students.
